Completed doctoral studies in the field of historical sciences and at least five years of experience at an academic or research institution Respected scholar in the domestic and foreign context Optimally, a professor, associate professor, or assistant professor, or the holder a corresponding academic title from a foreign university in the field of historical sciences Previous pedagogical, research and other creative activities in the required field of study Comparative or interdisciplinary professional focus is an advantage Proficiency in written and spoken Czech, proficiency in written and spoken English and knowledge of other languages are an advantage Organisational and communication skills Managerial skills and/or experience in leading research teams or professional workplaces are an advantage Experience in dealing with research projects and grants is an advantage Concept for the development of the Institute (preparation min. 3 years in advance, maximum length 10 pages), which will elaborate on the key areas of pedagogical and research activity cultivated at the existing historical Institutes of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, in its entire chronological (from the Middle Ages to the present), geographical (from Czech and Central European to global history) and methodological (from political history through cultural history to social and economic history) scope. The concept, which will also be publicly presented to future employees of the Institute of History as part of the competitive hiring procedure, includes in particular: Opinion on the advantages and problems of the existing concept and implementation of teaching at existing historical Institutes Development of pedagogical activities, with an emphasis on the accreditation balance sheet of undergraduate and postgraduate studies and the habilitation and appointment procedure for the Institute In this regard, specifically, the director's opinion on: a) the chronological and factual span of history, b) the concept of Czech general, economic and social history as axes of the interpretation of history, c) the future role of applied/professional orientations cultivated at the institute, i.e. teaching and museum studies Establishment of a new institute and its functioning, including a concept for the internal organisation of the workplace Development of scientific and research activities in a wide range of areas of long-term focus cultivated at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, taking into account modern global trends Development of international cooperation of the Institute in the field of teaching and research Prospects for further possibilities for workplace development (project activities, personnel development, inter-faculty cooperation, third role)
